Hello All,
I hope this is the right place to post this but, I have a question regarding the ECM on a 2014 Hyundai Equus Signature. The ECM that is in my car (Part Number 39110-3FVN0) has fried itself, and I noticed that there is also another ECM that looks very similar that was used in 2014 Equus Signature models as well, Part Number 39110-3FVN1.
I know the difference is that the 3FVN0 ECM is regulated to California emissions standards, and the 3FVN1 ECM is only federally regulated. My question, can I replace my 3FVN0 ECM with a 3FVN1 ECM? I know you can't go the other way around, as the 3FVN0 ECM would be looking for sensors or parameters that are not there or are not correct. But I've read that you can swap from a California regulated ECM to just a federally regulated one with multiple other vehicles (Toyota, Nissan, etc.)
The federally regulated ECM is MUCH (~$500) cheaper than the California one, so this is why I am posing this question. Any and all insight would be appreciated!
