In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Hello i have been a member of this forum for a while. I am an ex-owner of the xg300 and xg350 and i AM GOING to buy the Equus. I just have to take this time to vent. I am so sick and tiered of reading these articles on the internet with these poor reviews of the car based on what Hyundai was like over 20 years ago. Pepole need to let the past go and get with the program. I mean they had to start from somewhere. Id rather start off rough and move my way up then start off good and fall to the wayside(LEXUS/TOYOTA) Come on people give credit where credit is due; Hyundai is doing a wonderful Job producing cars these days. The styling the interior comfort etc.... is just Superb!!! And beside who are these random idiots getting on the net reviewing cars. A lot of them are just random people that need to be quiet. I hear a lot of people saying why would anyone pay 60,000 for a Hyundai, Well first off what do you drive, how much did you pay and how much are you paying for the maintenace? If it is a BMW or Lexus(Crap) then what made you pay 85-100,000 for it..DUMMY! It does the same thing that the Hyundai does..IT RUNS oh and after 3months of having the car they all get dirt and rust at the bottom of it and they are man and machine made so they will eventually BREAK DOWN! ITS A CAR YOU IDIOTS. So i say to those people who are so stuck on themselves... Go Ahead and pay 100,000.00 for your car and I'll still park mine beside yours at Wal-Mart(LOL) and i'll still get vallet parking oh and i'll have money to pay the waiter or waitress a good tip! Enjoy your car DUMMY, I will most deff enjoy my Hyundai Equus VS460!!!!!!

Good post! There's a lot of redemption in it, Shawshank.

Let us hear about your Equus. Any idea when they will be in?

Ron:welcome:

Yeah, too many people making too many ridiculous comments. They don't know what they're talking about. Most of these guys are the type that would still have complaints after getting into an Equus and taking it for a test drive. They don't matter...

If you don't need it right away, I'd wait a year to get that 5.0 liter DI, V8 Tau.

mmmmmmm....5.0 Direct Injection....430-440 hp....drool

Put that in the Genesis with supercharger pumping 465-475 hp, sport seats, paddle shifters, 20" wheels, 4 WD and be an Audi S6, MB 550 4Matic killer!

Here's the problem (for me only!):

If the Sig is priced at $55K I'm paying a 12K premium over the 4.6 Gen, but only getting air suspension and lane departure warning. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to be an early adopter and think it's a gorgeous car. But I find it hard to justify given the facts. I may still do it though.

And I still think there should be some incentive for Gen owners specifically.

Saw it at the NYC auto show... sat in the front and the back seats, and it was by far one of my top 3 cars of the show. Definitely the one I remember the most.

Funny part is... I didn't remember sitting in the Genesis....... I'm guessing 'cause the doors were locked?

Equus = awesome, but like the poster above, I can't see how it make sense FOR ME to pay the premium over the Genny. But that's me. If I had an extra $10 large, I would buy it.

@TJPark...yeah, i think im going to wait for the 5.0 and im hoping that the headlamps are going to look like the ones that are currently on the lemousiune version of the Equus. If not then im wuite sure that i wont be dissapointed but YES, I am looking fwd to buying this vehicle. http://www.netcarshow.com/hyundai/2010-equus_limousine/800x600/wallpaper_06.htm

My brother had a (approx) 1965 Honda Civic. It was a peice of s**t, and look at how Honda has come to the top in all aspects. I remember my brothers Civic was two tone blue and silver ,oh yeh and a lot of rust.

Hyundai has too come a long way from the Stellar, which my wife had, and the Pony. It is very much the same story that Honda went through.

I love my Genesis. I would and I am considering the Equus. Unfortunitly there has been none around here in British Columbia. Strange that Hyundai is not following the money with this lux car.

I was stationed in South Korea 30 years ago and drove a Hyundai Pony quite a lot. It was a fun car that had some serious quality control issues. It was also the most popular car in South Korea. All of the Asian imports initially came to the States as "cheap" knock offs of other things. In other words, every story has a beginning. The Koreans are masters of copying and putting out quality products. They have been taught well over the course of their history. I love my Hyundai Genesis. I also really like the Equis, but have to need for it. I see future generations of the Genesis having most of the things that will be in the Equis, so that will be fine with me. I also hate people who have issues with Hyundai based on the their past. Get past the past 20 years and come into the present. Seat in the car, drive in the and then make an informed decision.

I have not read any negative or horrible reviews of the Equus. About the worst thing I have read is that it is uncertain if the World is ready for such an expensive Hyundai. The only other "negative" i have read is the the exterior styling is derivitive and not totally original. Everything I have read is actually quite positive about the car. Are you referring to individual peoples opinions? I was actually quite surprised by how positive the industry seems about the Equus. Not sure where your rant is coming from. I think you will enjoy it as much as the press does. I am envious.

I enjoy a good rant as much as the next person, and your's is certainly a good one, and I appreciate the irony of you ranting about laypersons ranting, but.....

Most of the reviews I've read of the Equus have been fairly complimentary, and seem to be quite objective even when critical. Have the reviews that upset you been from credible sources? If not, I'd say ignore them.

Saw a Korean Equus at OC Hyundai yesterday while I was fixing up my 2011 Genesis lease. One heck of a car! I couldn't justify it myself (it wouldn't fit in my garage for starters!), but it really is lovely inside. The manager at OC Hyundai says they only have it for show. He stated November as the US sale date.
