Been here awhile...
I am on a three-week trip to the Czech Republic with a couple of days in Poland. Hyundai and Kia have a growing presence here, with a number of models that compete very well with their native Skoda brand, that is now owned by Volkswagen.
The Hyundai and Kia models sold here are not available in the US, but they are doing very well. Last year at this time I was here and rarely saw anything from Korea and nothing from Japan, except in Prague. This is an amazing feat in a country where the Skoda brand is like a national institution. Their models range from sub-sub compacts to luxury sedans used by diplomats, and their main factory is the oldest auto plant in continuous production in the world.
Way to go, Hyundai (and Kia)!
