Hyundai May Sales Up 9% Over April, -20% Versus Year Ago

Much of the company's recent success has come from its core sedan models. The company sold 27,265 Sonata and Elantra sedans in May, a 51.5 percent increase from the 17,991 sold in May 2008. Hyundai also sold 6,604 Santa Fe sport utility vehicles, up 1.8 percent from the 6,486 sold in May 2008. The company sold 2,079 of its premium Hyundai Genesis model, but did not post comparable sales figures.

Also, sales only down 7% for the year (2009).

They didn't post comparable sales numbers for the Genesis because it wasn't even on sale yet in May of 2008....lol.
