If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. I just read an article on motertrend the the next Infiniti Q60 coupe will have a 3.0l turbo v6 pushing 375 hp and will make it to the Q50 coupe as well with better gas milage than our 3.8, if the genesis and equus line are premium, why is there turbo engine options in cars like the sonata and veloster but not in the genesis? I think hyundai needs to use the 3.3l v6 with around 380 hp with their in house 10 speed they have been working on to be at the top of class and compete with infiniti, bmw rather than just lexus(toyota).

My guess would be because the Genesis is not a Sports Sedan. It is a Luxury Sedan.

IMHO it has nothing to do with luxury. In fact a modern V8 is so much better than any blown small block in smoothness and linear power. The blown engines are there because of CAFE regulations, nothing more. A blown engine consumes as much as it's equivalent in non blown but the difference is if you are easy on the throttle so the turbo hardly engages, you will get better fuel economy in the end. Long term reliability is much better on a non blown also. That being said, I would not mind a bit if Hyundai threw in a twin turbo on the existing 5.0 to produce 650hp. :D

I suspect we'll see something along these lines to replace the 3.8 V6, but the V8 will still be there for those that prefer the power delivery of a V8.

The 3.8 V6 actually does pretty well on fuel efficiency as long as you don't push it too hard (minimizing hard acceleration). I just got ~28 MPG on a 480 mile round trip with the cruise control set at 75-80 mph for most of the trip (~ 430 miles were pure non-stop highway; the rest was mixed backroads - no real city stop and go (maybe 10 miles)).

But in mixed daily driving, I only average 19-21 mpg - so room for improvement - but with gas locally at $1.68/gal for regular and $2.10/gal for premium, it's not that big of a deal at present :)

The ship has sailed on the normally-aspirated engine debate.

The move has been made by others in the service of weight, economy and performance and Hyundai now is lagging. I would expect new blown power plants soon in the Genesis which will help allow an AWD V8 model and help get rid of some of the weight which does not help the car compared to its competitors. Mercedes made the switch in model year 2012 for the E class and has not looked back.

Well for your information there is V6 3.3 and 3.0 model available for Genesis in UAE with tons of additional features. Its just in US we don't get those options. Why is that? Its our Hyundai management and marketing people in US, they think that they can make more money like this. Don't ask me how but it's them who knows better.

I think it's probably safe to say that Hyundai is working on a future turbo 6 cyl implementation. They are a stroke of a pen away from doing so. Just out of curiosity, how long has that Q60 twin turbo been on sale now?

I'm sure there will be a 3.3L boosted version in the future for Hyundai. Kia is coming out with their new "GT" in 2016 which will have the 3.3L turbo good for 395 hp and same for tq. It would only make sense to offer this engine in other vehicles besides one.

How fast can you say Genesis Hellcat if dodge can do it for 59,000 i dont see why hyundai cant do it for 58,000

The lead BMW M series designer has joined Hyundai. I look forward to see what future performance vehicles will be released by Hyundai.

A 3.3T is supposedly on the way, probably will see it and the 10 spd AT for the MCE.

Im so happy that we have a good active forum. So everyone agrees that hyundai needs to have something like this engine line up; (3.3 turbo V6 "380 HP" replacing the 3.8L V6 N/A "311 HP"), (continued 5.0 N/A v8 "420 HP" nothing like the sound and instant throttle response), and a (all new 4.6L super/turbocharged v8 "495HP")

And a 10 speed in house automatic which seems to be the way the competion is going such as acura, ford, gm, audi, volvo and etc.

As someone that has moved from a turbo 2.0 to V8, the smoothness and power deliver of the 5.0 can't be replicated with a turbo. The Tau engine pushes out great numbers especially when you compare it to the 6.2 V8 in the Stingray (455hp) and 5.7 Hemi (375hp).

Hyundai's focus with the Genesis is the luxury experience. The V6 and V8 give that in the meantime. I am pretty sure that Hyundai is working on more forces induction engines. Unlike Honda US, Hyundai has a wide range of engines from various 4 bangers, turbos. V6's and a V8.

No, everyone didn't agree with your cherry-picked product specs. What people did agree to is that Hyundai will probably build a V6 Turbo Genesis, mostly for fuel efficiency reasons. Since Hyundai hired BMW's Albert Biermann, they may do some higher output engines, but I for one hope not at the expense of reliability.

I am quite pleased with Hyundai 3.8 V6, it does its job quite well, much better than my expectation. There are times when I have to change lane quickly etc, genesis gives me less than enthusiastic power delivery. Perhaps lazy downshift.

I think for 60k and under, Lexus GS is by far the best sport/luxury sedan. And I think Genesis is the best luxury/plush sedan.
