Went to my local Hyundai dealership today for the NH state inspection and found two deep gouges on my front driver side rim, while washing the car an hour later. Needless to day, I am pissed. The car has less than 4800 miles on it. The car is stored in the winter and has never been driven in the rain. The car is flawless and I do whatever it takes to keep it that way. I thought I could trust this dealership with my car. I cannot imagine the person, doing the inspection, not knowing they did any damage. At the very least, they should have told me. Maybe they thought I would not notice. I cannot see this as anything but a dealership issue. I cannot think of any driving situations that would create this kind of deep curved gouge, other than equipment in a service bay, if they decide to blame me for it.
I left a message with the service manager about this situation. Everyone at the service department has already left for Easter weekend. I am not a happy camper at this point. I am not sure what to expect from them going forward.
