Yeah not to threadjack but I had to argue with a couple to negotiate with me over the phone.

Well, I was at my two Hyundai local Hyundai dealers half a dozen or so times each. We were in negotiations. I made my counter offer (third round) and then they just stopped. I was there in the flesh, checkbook in hand, ready to sign on the dotted line. They knew their competition. They left me a voice message this morning with their final price ( one was now $750 higher than they were last time we talked, and the other is now $1200 more.) I called them and they simply said that is now what they want, and , if I wait any longer the price will only go up. Amazing. F$&# them!!!

In my area, the one Hyundai dealer has only sold 6 Genesis since August. The other has sold 5 since August. They each have more than 10 on the lot at this time, and the one I am interested in purchasing has sat there for over three months.

I guess the Hyundai dealers in my area do not have a clue about selling cars at this price point and how to treat a prospective buyer. A damn shame, because I love the car, but, based on the treatment before the sale, I am not willing at this point to chance how the after sales service will be.

I will pick up a 2009 Volvo S80 T6 AWD this afternoon with a sticker price of 10K higher than a V6 PP Genesis for nearly 2K less than the V6 Genesis. I was interested in the V8 non-Tech. But at the price point for the Genesis, the Volvo is just too good a deal and too good a car quite frankly to pass up.

Hopefully by the time I am ready to trade the Volvo, Hyundai in my area will have gotten their heads together.

Volvo is taking $6500 off the price before the dealer even starts negotiating, so don't blame it the dealers.

281 HP with 15/23 MPG (City/Highway)? The Genesis V6 has 290 HP and 19/27 MPG (City/Highway).

I hope your car is faster than the Volvo website, otherwise you would be better off riding a bicycle.
