  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I can't be the only one who has thought about relocation...

The plastic oil filter mount that is in the DH v6, is that the same as the one in the -2012 coupes? I have only found a few pics of the one in the sedan and it sure looks similar. Why does this matter? Well, the Mishi cnc unit sure is cute and the option to use a big spin on AND utilize an oil cooler sure would be peachy.

Has anyone spoken with Mishimoto, or does anyone know the part number of the coupe part, or has anyone seen them side by side? Ima call Mishi tomorrow just in case no one else has, but boy that sure would make my day.

Thoughts? Opinions? Has this been covered, because yes I already used search and found nothing.

well, no, the two parts are fairly different, the mishi unit is clocked about 4hrs counter clockwise so there would likely be interference issues, see pic below. The bolts are clearly in the same place, which one could interpret as suggesting the oil inlet/outlets are also the same place, so if I could find a relo cap low profile enough, it just might fit, but the first part would be to have the DH unit in my hands to look at the back and I have a feeling this is not a part that is generally stocked. Mishi doesn't have any plans, currently, to make a unit for the DH Gennies, so Ima continue to investigate the possibility of this working.

anyhow, for now it is all guesses. the pic shows where, in light green, the relocation cap would likely interfere, the red lines being roughly the shape of the coupe unit.

the middle one appears to be a prototype, the one on the right is what they currently look like

As you can see from the markings, those units are made by Mahle.

the oem units are, yes, the smaller units are made by mishimoto and it is all moot anyway, I checked again, even if all t5he mount and port points matched, there is simply no way it will clear the steering motor, so this is a no go. but for $60, the oem unit is so cheap, I might just buy one to hack it up and see what I can do w it
