  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I decided to go with window tint on my 2023 Uyuni White G70 3.3T. I'm very pleased!

So as much as I have liked the exterior appeal of my 2023 G70 3.3T Sport Prestige, I thought the factory window tint was not good enough. I found a great window tinter near me and did 35% ceramic tint on the side and rear glass, and 50% ceramic tint on the windshield. I really like the result. Driving at night is excellent, which was a minor concern when darkening the windows. Here are a few photos (before and after). This is the only mod that I've done to my G70, except for a JLT Oil Separator in the engine bay that I did back in early April.

Tints change the look of a car so much!

They really do. The windows blend better with the black grill and wheels now. Minor, but I notice the difference. :)

Looks good! I hope it keeps you cooler in the summer months. I did the same for my previous vehicle (Prius) and I didn't notice that much of a difference in the heat. It does protect the interior though. I'll probably do it to mine eventually; maybe the newer tints protect from the heat better.

I haven’t had any interior heat issues this past summer (without tint) so I expect next summer will be fine. If I had not gone with ceramic, I wouldn’t see much difference in the interior. We’ll see.

3mm has some really cool stuff with ceramic. A lot of heat gets deflected!

Looks nice. Do you have state inspection? Windshield is illegal unless it is just the top 4 inches or so.

No, we don't have state inspection. CT is kind of loose with window tint. My granddaughter has 20% on the sides/rear and 35% on the windshield. My installer does windows most of the time, per customer request. I know in some states the laws are more strict. So, yes, 50% on the windshield is technically not legal, but I'll be fine. Worse comes to worse, if I did get stopped, I'd remove the windshield tint.

Looks awesome Bob. The tint makes the white pop more.
Getting tint is on my list. I wish I could go as dark as you guys can in CT.

Tony, MA allows 35% which is what I have on the sides and rear. You can only tint the top 6" on the windshield. 35% (ceramic) should work well for your G70. Especially with the summer heat. The windshield will allow some heat in, of course, since you can't tint the whole windshield. (y)
