I miss my Genny...

I was on my way to the VA for my appointment when suddenly I got a problem. I was doing 75mph when I accelerated and felt a hard downshift. I knew that wasnt normal, felt like the driveshaft was loose when it did the downshift. I also smelled a hint of burning metal, the smell reminded me of burning clutch. Needless to say, I took it to my local Hyundai immediatelly after the VA. I was told the "megatronix" had gone bad or was defective. Turns out there is a bulletin for this issue. Its a $4k part and required them to drop the transmission to repair it. Glad Im still under warranty. So now Im driving some pos rental until the Genny is fixed. Gotta say, that car has me spoiled cause this dodge journey is full of suck.

Mechatronics is basically the Transmission Control Module. This transmission was used in a lot of BMW's and is usually pretty bullet proof. Here is some literature if you care:

lol.....I do like that my dealership tries to provide you with a loaner of the same type of car your accustom to driving, even if it is the base model. They either provide you a loaner or rental at their expense, wish all dealerships did this.

Oh, I agree! OBrien Hyundai has been nothing but the best, its just that particular rental I picked was just abhorrent. The transmission on that thing was horrible.

I have to bring my car back on Tuesday since the same problem is still present. Im sure Enterprise will have something else for me by then.
