  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have been "shopping" since June, and I pulled the trigger today. A 3.8 red Genny, tech package, with grey interior is waiting for me across town!

I paid $25600 after being allowed $18000 for my trade. That is the total, including fees and KY's 6%. (Until last July KY required tax on the full amount, but now they "only" collect on the amount above your trade. How do other states handle this?)

I was planning to get the Ultimate package but the better sound system isn't important to me, and although I like the bigger display and the control knob and the automatic trunk, I couldn't see paying another $3000 for them. I NEEDED the tech package to get the lane-following and blind spot detection features. This car was manufactured last May and has slightly different features than newer ones--like no heated steering wheel. Does anyone know more about those changes?

What I hate is that I will be trading my 2011 4.6L Genny. I love that car, and as I write this I realize how much I will miss her. My best car ever. Before delivering her to the uncaring dealer I'm going to use up the half-tank of gas on one last ride. The new one has big shoes to fill.

I may not sleep much tonight.

You'll love the new one. FYI the heated steering wheel, headlight washers, and heated rear seats only come on the AWD drive model, no ultimate package has them (even the 5.0s.) To my knowledge the only thing that's changed since May is a nav system update, and possibly a fix for the panoramic sunroof rattle there's that large thread about (totally not sure about that.)

The other thing you didn't mention that the ultimate has is the heads up display. I would have ponied up just for that, but alas, no HUD made by any manufacturer can work with polarized sunglasses so it's worthless for me.

The 2015 won't be in the same league as your 4.6 on a pure acceleration level, so enjoy it while you can! That being said I love the midrange power and the sound of the retuned engine (vs the 2012 3.8 for me.) Not to mention countless other things they've improved.

I do love it already. In my drives today I really came to appreciate the blind spot detector and the lane-following feature.

Yes, I forgot the HUD, but thank you for pointing out the polarized glasses problem; that would have put a damper on the feature for me, too. Polarized lenses even made it tough to see the center display on my 2011, but today was so cloudy I didn't learn if the color display helps.

Here is a tip for those who lose site of the HUD display with there sunglasses on. Stop by Sunglass Hut and pick yourself up a pair of RayBans with UV protectant, not Polarized lenses and you can see the display just like without the sunglasses on. It is awesome and worth the money.

Thanks. I'll be looking for a pair that goes over my glasses. My eye doc warned me that glasses with automatic sun darkening won't work in a car (no UV), so I need to wear them over my glasses.
