I Really Dislike Genesis Connected Remote Start

It's -15C here this morning, and when I went to start my car with the Genesis Connected app I got a popup informing me of a mandatory update alert. I was informed through the app that I have to update the app to version 1.17.0 through Google Play, but of course when I opened up the google play store there were no updates available. Is this a bad April Fool's day joke or something?

After messing around with this for 10 minutes I remembered about the website having the remote start feature built in as well, but still can't say I've enjoyed this app in the slightest.

Apple? Nothing in the Android store and the prod version is well past that version.

I'm less than two years into the 5 years available free subscription period. It's super weird, today it's informing me of critical update 1.16.4 that I need to download, with no download available. I have the most recent version already installed, which is version 1.16.0. Thank goodness I have access to a computer at work to use the Genesis Connected website instead.

is this new, I thought it was 3 years free.

In Canada we get 5 years, but unfortunately only 5 years of power train warranty. Not a great trade-off in my view.

That's weird. I got the same message myself about the critical update but when I clicked ok it sent me directly to Google Play Store where the update was there and ready. I simply hit "Update."

I’m just hoping since US has 10 year warranty, Genesis is very confident in their power train reliability. So hopefully our 5 year warranty won’t be a worry.
