  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 3 year lease on a 2009 4.6, currently with 32,000 miles on it ...love every bit of the car (except the original tires, which I had to replace at about 22K).

Yesterday, I was driving down the main street that my dealer is on, when I noticed my low tire message came on. So, I just dropped in to have them fill the tire. While I waited, of course, I chatted with the salesperson.

I ended up swapping out my 2009 for a new 2011 4.6, same monthly payment to the dollar, no down, no nothing. Literally changed keys and tag! Just a new 3 year lease. I happy! :D

That's sweet! :)

Reminds me of the early '90's. I owned a Lexus LS, and would go to the dealership for an oil change, and drive out with a new car. Little to no $ down, and similar payments. This happened twice to me - 1992 & 1994. (back then, there was accusations that Toyota was dumping the LS's on the market below value - in order to get market share).

nice!

do you notice any difference in the ride?

Actually, yes...I noticed it the moment I test drove it. I think the suspension has improved, so I was pleased with the ride immediately, although it still comes with the crappy Dunlop 5000's. I will be interested to see if I have to replace them at 22K like I did on my '09!

I might look to do it now, if there is a good deal at TireRack.

Thanks for being happy for me! :grouphug:

how long did you have left on the 2009 lease? you said no money out of pocket, was anything rolled into the new lease? was it for the same terms as the old one? I have a 3 year lease as well and i am interested in swapping too.

Have you considered asking the dealer to swap the new Dunlops for the tires on your previous car? I just traded in my '09 for a new '11 and as soon as I drove off the lot, I remembered how much I detested the Dunlops. The dealer was willing to change the tires (not wheels, but the tires), as it gives him a new set of Dunlops to sell on a used car. Win/win deal...give it a try.

I had not thought to ask about tire change....might try that next time! I guess I was stunned when they agreed to swap, that I just thought to shut up and trade!

The swap was for identical to what I had, which had 10 months left on the lease. They put my old plates on the new car, no $$ changed hands, and off I went.

that's awesome!! what's your favorite feature the '11 has that the '09 didn't (if any?)

Fave feature!? Well, I've always loved everything about the car, can't figure out why they don't let the front passenger enjoy a cold seat like I do, though. But I rarely have passengers, so it's no biggie to me.

New fave though in the 2011 for me is the adaptive cruise control. Thing knows when to "back Off" if someone pulls in front of me and is not pacing at my same MPH.

I think the big incentive for the dealer was the 2009 was low mileage. You had 1/2 the miles on your 2009 compared to me. Plus moving 2011 this late in the year, I think Hyundai is being very aggressive as the 2012s have already arrived on lots.

Great car, and a "free" move to a 2011 is a great move.

Congratulations.
