  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

We leased our 2015 Genesis with 2700 miles on it that had been driven by one of the sales managers at the Hyundai dealership.
I have noticed some things that seem a little "off" with the car and have asked my salesman for a car fax in an email sent twice. He has not responded to me. I can get the car fax but at a cost but the dealership certainly has free access to this application.
Any suggestions or advice?

This is the oldest scam in auto sales.

You may ask why I believe that? The answer is from reading this forum for more than 7 years and hearing everyone say the dealer told them that "their demo" was only driven by the sales manager, dealer GM, etc.

I would pay for the carfax, to make sure the car was not previously owned.

The 10 year -100K mile extended drivetrain warranty is only for the original owner. However, a CPO (certified pre-owned) car has the 10 year -100K mile drivetrain warranty restored, even though it is used.

If the car is not pre-owned, and you are the original owner, your car was driven by customers as a demo. But you still should be able to get any problems fixed.

Also note, that anything verbally told to you about a car is usually not binding unless in writing, according to the Uniform Commercial Code (assuming purchase price is greater than $500).

Exactly, most likely a loaner.
