  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I've had ambient door lights in my last 2 cars, and I miss it.. I think it adds a bit of elegance.

I've seen a few kits.. has anyone tried to add it to the Gen2?

Mr. I, are you able to show an example? Talking about door sill lights?

Like the blue light that is hidden in the inside door handles (back seats)?

actually believe it or not, it is on all 4 doors, you just can't see it in the front from the seating angle, but if you look up under the handle there are lights there, and the ones I posted above wire into those.

As cool as it looks in pix, I'm not really a fan of having a bunch of parts of my interior glowing at night. Especially if it starts reflecting off the windows. Too much of a distraction/obstruction. I prefer the soft glow of just the dash lights and that's all I need while driving at night.

to each their own.. I actually like it, the ones on my Lexus were soft and subtle, and had a nice elegant look, single color, nice soft white. The Camaro ones were green and at first glace seemed a bit harsh, but they never bothered me while driving, in both cases they are aimed down and away and did not reflect off the windows.

Many thanks, gents. They do look nice.

I used to think ambient lighting was just a useless gimmick until I got in my wife's X3 and enjoyed the night atmosphere. For drivers who find the lighting distracting, they can always turn it off. Other people find wood/metal trim or double-stitching/piping superfluous--it's just a personal preference, and to each his/her own. I do think Genesis ought to offer ambient lighting on all its models, it's a low-tech and low-cost item, and all the luxury brands have them now.

Yes you're right about the price no doubt. However there are others items he might be interested in also. One of the only vendors that carries anything for the Genesis.

@ Dat5.0GenLyfe you here your price is a bit out of line.
