Many if not most cars today run thermostats at 195F+. This higher temp is designed to limit emissions.
According to my ScanGuage my 5.0 Equus (same drivetrain as Genesis) runs at 188F, a lot cooler. This cooler thermostat is better a better balance for power and economy. It is pretty close to optimum temp.
