  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

It is hard to say that about a car, but it is true. Today is the 3 week anniversary of buying my 2013 Base, I have really enjoyed the past 3 weeks but I didn't really fall in love till this past Saturday. My wife was having a bunch of ladies over for a Scentsy party so the last place I wanted to be was anyplace near our house, so I decided to go for a little drive, it was about time that I was able to spend more then a couple miles at a time behind the wheel.
I left my house in Redlands, went through Oak Glen, had lunch in Banning, headed down to Thermal, went up to 29 Palms and took Old Woman Springs across Lucerne Valley to Hwy 18, up to Big Bear and Hwy 38 over Onyx Summit and back to Redlands. I stayed off from any major freeways if possible and covered 220 Miles in 4 hours. In this drive I went from 1500ft elevation down to sea level, up to 8500ft and back down to 1500ft. From suburban neighborhoods to lonely desert roads and up mountain switch backs. Through all of this my little Ginny averaged 22.3 MPG and 57 MPH, but I won't tell you how far up the speedo the needle traveled on several sections, after all you never kiss and tell.
I have never owned a car that was so satisfying over a fun drive like this. I have had plenty of performance cars that were awesome in the corners and driving through mountain passes, but they were annoying in the day to day. I have also had several commuter cars that were all but useless in any form of performance driving. But the Ginny was nothing but satisfying over every aspect, the perfect GT car with out the price of the perfect GT car, I can't believe that this cost less then 20K. Not only was the performance wonderful when I needed it but I was also not tired or worn down after a great drive. Really, what more could you ask for?

Awesome! I love driving a good performance car when you really have nowhere to go, just "driving".

Love taking my base model for a drive too. Got it new for $29k. I drive my wife crazy by always wanting to be the one to drive somewhere. Sometimes on long trips I have to give in and let her take the "golf cart" since it gets spectacular mileage. That's the name I've given her Sonata Hybrid. It sounds like and drives about as fast as a golf cart.

My Genesis still get looks all the time. Just sitting in front of my wife's business the other day waiting to pick her up at least a half dozen people paused to try and figure out what I was driving. My wife is always quick to say "He/She is checking out your car". I think this will be one of those timeless designs.

I feel the same way about my new 13 w/ Tech that I've had for 2-1/2 months.

All I can say is, make sure you use protection.

I am liking mine more and more every day. It is just a great car to drive. Not much more to say without getting mushy about it :D

The manual says 20, but I will going to switch for synthetic

The manual actually says 30 for the 3.8. I knew anyways, it was a joke - a continuation of the sexual innuendo introduced to this thread.

Nice!!

I live in the foothills of the San Gabriel mountains and the first thing I did with the Genesis when I bought it a month or so ago was fill her up with gas and hit the canyons for some spirited (but safe) driving. Love the way these cars drive.

On a recent drive out to Palm Springs I got in a convoy being led by a BMW 750IL followed by me followed by a Maserati and we were not driving toooooo crazy but speeds were a little into the triple digits.

I live in Tennessee and could not agree with you more. Sometimes I am slightly disappointed that my drive was not a little longer. Get to enjoy the ride and sound system a bit longer!

I also live in Tennessee. I took my first trip of any length the first of the month. Went from Columbia, Tennessee to Dallas and back through Shreveport. Total of about 1500 miles. What a comfortable and great vehicle. The longer I own it, the better I like it.

I have 124k miles (all mine) on my 2006 Acura TSX (manual tranny).

Since it's 8.5 years old, wifey and I are thinking about trading in and up to the 3.8 Tech pkg Genny. This thread is making me want to move faster!!

I've been in love with mine as well. The keyless entry is probably my favorite feature that I also happen to use the most.

my commute is 50 miles (about an hours drive) one way with the last 5-3 miles (20 minutes) of that commute being in heavy slow and go traffic. The coffin like quietness of the interior is awesome, especially when your around busses and other noisy things.
