  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Model Type
1G Genesis Sedan (2009-2014)
2012 4.6, which is standard with Ultimate. The "Immobilizer" comes on with no reason. Section 4 page 64 of the manual pretty much states "if you can't start your car, drive it to your dealer" Uh, OK. I read the manual. I'll let it sit for 5-10 minutes trying to start, and all of a sudden, it starts, immobilizer light goes off. Used 2 different smart keys with new batteries, kept them very far apart, one in house, one in car same outcome. Unlock door with physical key which worked on my previous CTS, no help. Placed key in slot in dash also does not work. Any thoughts? BTW, once it starts it's fine. Until it's not. Additional info, car battery strong less than 1 year old, 12.3 volts after 48 hours rest without starting. Lights work, including the immobilizer that informs me where the issue lies.
