  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Import Canadian 5.0 AWD?

You will have to figure out how to get warranty service in the USA (unless you don't mind driving to CA for it). It might be possible, but I would check first.

Good point, I imagine you could get service without going to CA but it's all be out of pocket, like not having health insurance.

Yes. Some people don't realize that the warranty is offered by Hyundai Canada, or Hyundai Motor America, and not Hyundai Korea. And the warranties in CA may be different than in the USA for that reason.

In some cases, forum members who moved their USA purchased car to Europe or Korea said they were able to get "some" warranty service, but I believe that had to arrange that ahead of time (I don't recall the details). There should be some discussion about this in other threads.

A Canadian Nav could drive you crazy when it says things like, "Please enter your destination, eh?!"

or destination is "aboot" 4 kilometers away :)

Of course, living in New Jersey, mine says "What the hell do you want?"...

I think mine's still going, "Y'all drive careful now,."

Biggest issue is the Kilometres on the speedometer and digital and nav. This cannot be changed to MPH on the 2015. If you have no issue with this then go for it. Warranty is very different in that we get only 5 years 100,000km on everything which is pretty much the same as the US however we do not get the 10 year on engine/drivetrain, this remains under to 5 year/100,000 warranty.

Or.......

You could just wait for the 2016's - which will have an AWD 8 for the US market.

I looked into this already....the other members brought up the obvious things about warranty and display units (which is NOT easily switchable from what I understand).

The Canadian cars do NOT have Hyundai's Blue Link technology if that matters to you.

One the + side the Canadian V8 AWD car gets a heated steering wheel and heated rear seats which our V8 car does not have.

Did you see something official on that? I did see that AWD V8 photo in the 2016 brochure but I couldn't find any mention of it coming in the brochure. Would LOVE to have the AWD V8 car.

Not necessarily - but both of my local dealers said they are getting them.... tried to pre-sell me one right away. lol

Hmmm prior to the 2015s coming out, my local dealer also told me that AWD would be available on the V8s for 2015. Salespeople never know what they are talking about.

very true... but they appeared to be in a position to "sell" or "order" them. *shrug*

Having worked for a BMW dealer years ago I can tell you that the GM of the dealership probably knows if such a vehicle exists or not because of the way allocation works. What they tell the sales staff on the other hand is a different story :) The regional reps from the import companies work pretty early on to get the GMs and dealer principals to commit to numbers on various models....at least that was the way at worked with BMW.
