  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Important! Lessons For Ignorant Sales People!

Here is another little tidbit for Hyundai sales people.... Read the freaking discussion boards that are dedicated to your product. It's an invaluable insight into the mind of your potenetial customers.

You don't know how many times I have recommended this little tool to car sales people. They always look at you like "Wow, that's a great idea. Why didn't I think of that?"

Duuuuuhhhh!!!

I wonder if there is a creepy car salesman school out there that teaches them how to behave. The golden rules would be something like this...

* Get yourself a handle like Fast Eddie, or Slick Rick
* The art of hanging around the showroom window
* Ignore the little lady, focus only on the man.
- Judge the customer by their appearance.
* Never read the manual it will only confuse you and the customer
* Don't go into detail on features you might scare them off
* Only sell what is on the lot
* If you don't know the specs, makes something up that sounds technical
* Deny any fact that would delay a sale TODAY
* Saying "I don't know, but I'll find out" to the prospect is a sign of weakness
* Build a sense of urgency (example - "this is the last one in stock")
* Avoid talking price and find out what monthly payment they want to pay
* Don't put your promises in writing it will get you in trouble
* Never give their keys back after performing a trade evaluation
* Always write your name on a generic business card
* Ask for the order and get a deposit
* Offer to do a favor if they give you a "5" on survey cards

My friend and I went to look at the Genesis. SP #1 approached us as we walked into the dealership and stated "can I help you". I told him we had come to take a look at the G. He then replied "when your ready to talk numbers I will be at my desk" then he walked away. As we sat in the car SP#2 leaned in the window and asked if he could help us. Before I could reply SP #3 leaned in the passenger side window and asked my pal the same question. Too competitive and not very professional. While conversing w/ SP #2 and #3 a fourth SP walked by and chimed in. Back in June SP #4 was the same lazy person that couldn't find my other friend a blue Sonata w/ beige leather . He told us back then that Hyundai ran out of blue Sonatas. Needless to say my buddy bought the car at another dealership. I thought SP #4 was an idiot but silly me deceided to ask him when the v8 genesis would be arriving. He replied that Hyundai has cancelled the V8 due to gas prices and that nobody could afford the car. My wife and I make approx 200k per year i think we might be able to handle the payment. I have a MB E class that I quite frankly think is sub par to the Genesis. The features, comfort, size, looks and price will sell the car. Genesis deserves better than the lame SPs selling them.

I went to a Hyundai dealer to buy a new Genesis V8. The salesperson tried hard to convince me that I would be happy with a V6. Hint: Assume that a customer who wants a V8 Genesis is intelligent, affluent, and able to afford a V8. Hint for Hyundai: Make sure that all of your sales personnel are informed of when the V8 equipped Genesis will arrive and have the sales staff tell the customer. The six cylinder Genesis that I looked at were sitting in the general car lot along with used vehicles and various smaller Hyundai.
