Since I didn't find this on the forum yet, I thought I would start a thread for anyone who BRAVELY imported their GV60 to Europe, like I just did. Rather than focusing on the reasons why (which are often unique depending on the country you move to), I would like to share any practical knowledge of adapting this wonderful car to the EU standards, including the user experience. If anyone here would like to ask any question on this topic, feel free to do so below.
I have found Genesis North America and Genesis Motors Europe (GME) not to be very helpful and actually discouraging of importation. GME have explained the North American spec cannot be supported in Europe, where Genesis only exists in Germany, Switzerland, and the UK. Specifically, amber color rear turn signal indicators are missing from the US version, as is the required rear fog light. I was able to find a great shop that installed the rear fog light perfectly.
One item I would like to change is the Navigation system. While I use Apple CarPlay most of the time and that obviously works flawlessly, I need the EU map in order to see speed limits displayed on the HUD. Does anyone have any tips?
