Incoming Call Caller ID Not Recognized

When I receive a call from someone that is in my phone directory, I am not getting the caller name to pop up on the screen on the dash. It just comes up as an anonymous call. Is there a setting that I am missing?

I have an 09 sedan with tech... incoming #s are shown on the screen.

How do you have the phone numbers stored in the Genesis memory:
number only
area code + number
1+area code+number?

The "1+" is often not needed; the caller-ID coming in won't have this either... so the Genesis will think nothing matches.

You guys are lucky to be able to get your addresses ported over - I STILL haven't been successful doing it. I have a Verizon Storm 2 and it just won't synch. Anyone elese out there have this phone and is able to transfer numbers? 2009 4.6 Tech.

no, what has happened over the years, as I use a number, I add it to the car address book, which has "duplicated" the address book on my storm 2 (man I hate that phone)...... there is no way to import contacts on the 2009 Genesis.

having same issue. comes up as unknown caller. Followed manual but still no luck. gotta find time to go to dealer to find out whats going on.

Your dealer may try to help you, however their techs and also their sales people probably know less about the system than you do.

I never hape problems with my system, however I don't try to do all the high tech things you guys do.

1. When I phone people that I have in the cars phone book, I either say "call Xxxxxx" or I just go to the phone screen and push the DIS to that persons name.

2. When I phone people that I do not have in the cars phone book, I just pick up my phone, find that person, and hit send. The call goes right to the cars bluetooth.

3. When I phone people that I do not have in either the car or the phones phonebook, I just dial from either the cars list or the phones list. It still connects through the bluetooth.

When I receive a call, if that person is in the cars phone book, it tells me who it is, otherwise, it just lists the caller ID of that phone. I don't care. Whever it is, I answer it anyway.

There are times when I receive an overseas call. Sometimes, it tells me the person, and sometimes it just lists the overseas caller ID. Sometimes listing the "011" prefix for international calls, and sometimes listing the "+" prefix for international calls. Again, I don't care. I just answer it.

My new 2011 downloaded phone book 1st try and on the way home from dealer, it was listing who was calling and/or the number of who was calling. Now, 2 days later, every call is an unknown call. Same trouble. If you get an answer, please tell.

2010 v8 w/ tech and mine was giving me name of person on incoming now it just gives me the number ---I have no idea why ? anybody know .... but I have lots of things going on with my system ..sometimes the the screen stays black a long time when I start and says please wait ...other times it goes right to the map ..ipod works and sometimes it is locked up or goes to songs on its own.... my dealer does not have anybody that understands the system !!!!! so when it starts doing stuff on its own ... I JUST GO TO RADIO THAT WORKS AND LIVE WITH IT... till I start the car again and it's like what will it do today ????? DEALER WANTS TO RE FLASH SYSTEM --BUT I WOULD LOSE MY PHONE LIST AND HAVE TO PUT THEM IN ONE AT A TIME AGAIN 140 NAMES AND NUMBERS..A REAL PAIN ----NOT WORTH IT TO ME.. I DON'T USE THE NAV AND WHEN I TRIED IT TOLD ME GO THE WRONG WAY ---AS THE CROW FLYS NOT THE HIGHWAY IN NYC IT WOULD HAVE TAKEN ME A EXTRA 2 HOURS WITH TRAFFIC IF I WENT THE WAY THE CAR TOLD ME TO ----I NEVER USE IT !!!! LIKE ITS NOT THERE...MUCH BETTER THE OLD WAY ASK SOMEONE HA,HA,HA

The dealer could not fix. Replaced the system. Tried to put numbers and names manually. A few callers are identified but most just show unknown. Very disappointed.

4000 miles later and after the first two days, the incoming calls all show up as "unknown caller" even though their numbers are in the cars phone book list. This little tech bit is always present and frustrating.

I will take out area code and see if that helps.
