I have a 2025 GV70 Sport Prestige 3.5 and we had our first 8 incher a few weeks back. So I was caught out in it and loved how well the vehicle works in it. The first snow I always test it in an open parking lot and see how awd feels, traction control on, traction control off to see how it digs without Nannie’s. Then see how it stop and abs feels. This is like my tenth awd vehicle so the routine has been done for all. Subaru’s, Nissan, BMW, Toyota, Acura, Ford, etc. and I’m impressed with Genesis.
I scrolled to the dash screen that shows the power distribution to the wheels and all four lit up immediately when they spun, expected. It was really marvelous to feel how well everything felt and performed.
But here is what I learned. I forgot I still had the icon on my dash displayed and was shocked to see how much power goes to the front wheel on dry roads! I know it’s rear bias but figured I’d only see rear wheel power until there was spinning involved. Nope, even under dry conditions, judging by the icon wheels lighting up from a stop, the fronts get power even when there’s no tire spin going on. That’s engineering over my head, but cool to know.
