  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

While on the phone (blue tooth) my wife had to punch it (gas pedal not the phone ;) and at that moment the phone call dropped (I was on the other end) and the whole info screen shutdown. The Hyundai logo came up but seem to take about 3-4 minutes before the unit was fully functional (that is how long it took before she could make another call).

It's only happened this once, any one else had this?

Never heard symptoms like you describe though it sounds like a plain old loose connection. With the engine idling and the stereo/nav system ON, open the front doors and you'll see little doors on each end of the dash. Pop those off to get to the fuses... wiggle each one and see if anything in the car/stereo hiccups. Sloppy electrical connections, including loose fuse clips, seems to be one of the most frequent problems on these cars. Connectors not fully "seated" in their sockets - straight from the factory - has been noted several times on these forums.

There is also a main fuse panel under the hood in one of the plastic boxes. If I remember correctly that's where the "big amp" fuses are - including the one for the amp unit. Wiggle those too.

Took to the dealer for a early 22.5k service and now they have ordered a new Nav systems. Have not heard when it will arrive. Not sure what happens to XM or if the Nav will have updated maps. Will let you all know.

Took the genny to NoVA wine county this weekend. Perfect car for hitting the vineyards.

It been about 11 months since the fix and just last Friday it happen again. The Wife was using cell phone via Bluetooth to home (me). On my end the conversation stopped and I could hear music for 2-3 seconds and then nothing. On the Genny side the Nav screen blanked out and started back up with the logo. A second call via BT was normal. Had a 30k oil change at the dealer the next day and had it noted.
