Just installed 10" Infinity single voice coil 4ohm sub and a kenwood mono 300watt RMS, 1000w peak amp. I tied into the rear sub speaker wires for the feed and left the stock sub active.
Pretty pleased with the outcome. I didn't want ground shaking bass and I think the single 10" is perfect and compliments the system pretty well. Hits harder and gives a lot more depth. I have the gain about halfway and has a lot more to give but think it would be too much if I turned it up.
Interesting observation is that if you open up and get in the trunk it is very loud, but when you close the trunk I can barely hear the whole system. The car is insulated so well.
Another thing I found is that I think the green wire on the sub is actually negative. I wired the green as positive initially but sounded like the phase was off.
