  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Last night I was driving home in heavy rain. For no reason at all my dash and media console lighting kept going from medium lighting to 100% lighting as if using the dimming switch and moved it back and forth. During this time the dimmer switch was not working at all. I am thinking bad dimmer switch or could it be the dash light sensor?

A new issue after the alternator? I have noticed my instrument cluster does the same thing when I go from sunshine to darker areas and then back. It has done it since new. I figured it was part of the sensing system. Example: Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnels.

In the end I turned the dimmer all the way to 100% and changed the media center to dark mode... No issues since.... I am thinking regardless of miles, 10 years old is the limit for Hyundai Genesis models.

I hope not, I plan on keeping mine.
