  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I went on a long vacation and disconnected my battery during my 2 week trip. I connected the battery back when I got back but now the instrument cluster does not turn on when I open the door. I swear this happened before I left unless I am imagining things. If it was supposed to turn on, was there a setting that somehow got switched off? or was a fuse blown?

or is it neither and I'm just misremembering things?

Why would the instrument panel turn on when a door is opened? Don’t you have to press the start button first????

I guess I am thinking more of the CEL light, TPMS, etc. I'm guessing by your response, I am misremembering things. Man I must be going crazy.

Here’s a thought. Maybe your front ceiling lamp has gone dark?
