  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The first generation G had a slot to insert the key fob if the key fob battery was low. The slot enabled a key fob with a low battery to start the car. Is there such a slot on the 2015? I tried to start my car when the battery was dying and I briefly saw an instruction on the dash to hold the end of the key fob to the push start button. Do we have a slot on the 2015 G?

That slot was eliminated in about 2011 or 2012 (not sure the exact model year) and you just hold the keyfob next to the start button.

The proper way is to push the start button with the key fob. I tried this by removing the battery in the fob, car still starts if this method is used. ;)

I had a 2012 and the slot was still there. As stated, the 2015 does not have the slot.

Maybe it was 2013 that the slot was removed. I know that some of the G1 models don't have a slot. There are many posts about this subject.
