  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

...will admit I'm not gaining a lot of comfort reading all of the threads and comments regarding poor QC with the turbos, long lead times to get dealer appointments, only to have poor service.

I'm in search of a new daily driver. I have a summer/weekend V8 modded to 600rwhp, so I'm not looking to replicate that, but I'm not willing to drive a boring little box car, no matter how "zippy".

I'm looking at:
Lexus RC 350 F Sport.
Acura TLX S Type
Genesis 3.3 RWD G70

I prefer a coupe, and the Lexus is really the only one being made anymore, and I love the lines of the Lexus the best, but am a bit put off by the lack of power in that engine, and the lack of inexpensive mods as compared to the Genesis and Acura.

The 2024 Acura has impressed me by no longer looking like an overpriced Honda. However, its sticker is substantially higher than the Genesis.

My BIL has a 2018 Kia Stinger and absolutely loves it. He's been talking about the Genesis as what he would want to upgrade to, and that is what got me interested.

However, here in the DMV there isn't a stand alone Genesis dealer, and the stories I've been reading about the Hyundai dealerships isn't encouraging. I'd have to drive to Richmond for the closest standalone Genesis dealer.

Also, seems all the Genesis dealers in this area are only stocking AWD vehicles. I have no intention of driving this in the snow

Your thoughts?

I would do a little research and find out if our dealer is any good or not. You can simply call or go online to there web site and try to make an appointment and see how far out they are. That should tell you something right there. They inquire about a loaner. My dealer has plenty, but I have read here that some have one loaner for Genesis customers. I have a 2021 GV80 with one cosmetic issue that was fixed when I brought it in for my 2 year service.
These Genesis cars are only as good as there dealer when you have an issue.
Good luck. Not sure about the Acura, but I had a 2017 RDX. Solid car, but kind of blah. You can never go wrong with the dependability of a Lexus.
