  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just replaced the battery in my 2017 G90. Because I had to wait for Interstate to try to charge the old battery, the car sat in my garage for 3 or 4 days with no battery at all. I installed the new battery and everything works fine EXCEPT I get intermittent warning lights and bells to “Check Smart Cruise Control” and the cruise does not work at all.

Any ideas about anything I could have done/ undone to cause this or what I can do to un-cause it? I asking because I’d love to avoid another bout with my dealer’s service department.

Im posting this in the forum for all models because I really doubt this is a model specific problem.

I would drive it for a few days to let it learn and reset as needed to see if the error goes away. Sometimes a few drive cycles can be needed.

Thank you for your prompt reply, but it’s been 5 days now and it happens every time I drive it. I originally was of the same opinion as you, but it doesn’t look as if the car agrees with us.

Bummer. I’m assuming you have already looked at the radar lense on the grill and don‘t see anything unusual there? Could be the dealer may need to plug in and do some form or a reset via the OBDll port. Other than being a hassle to reset radio and memorized functions, have you tried to disconnect battery for an hour and just double check that won’t reset or wake something up possibly with the cruise? At this point not a lot to loose. Good luck.

Problem solved. Took it to my dealer and they cleared the code. No problems driving home. (They were nice enough to tell me it was nothing I had done, nor was there anything I could have done to fix it.)

You’re right. See my last post. (I took it to the dealer before I read your post, but you still get credit for the right answer!) Thanks for your help!

Glad it’s fixed. If my radar cruise does something weird, I know dealer help may now be needed. I’m assuming the G70 and G90 probably have some shared components here.
