  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 2015 3.8 genesis with 105,000 miles .Went to start car and everything was totally dead ,dash lights, door locks, etc.. went to battery in the trunk wiggled around a few wires and everything look normal and as I was contemplating what wrenches needed to remove the battery to charge it, everything went back to normal without touching anything .Four days later wife goes to start car and same thing with everything totally dead. I go out later to have a look at it and everything is normal and starts right up without my having touched anything.

Trusted auto repair shop could not find any codes or any problems. Hyundai dealership first appointment is six weeks away.

Any suggestions?

Did you find the fix for this issue. I'm having the same problem with my 2015 5.0

Your positive battery clamp is loose. The bolt that tightens it will be as tight as you can make it, but the clamp itself will still be loose. It is a bad design. The clamp itself is less than $15, but that whole battery junction box assembly has to be disassembled to change it. As a work around, some have used battery post shims.

Thanks.. I'll have a look. It would be great if that's the case.

Take out the bolt that holds the positive junction box to the car. See if you can then just lift it straight up and off of the battery post. It's very difficult to check without removing that bolt.

Yep..did what you said and it came right off. I'll pickup some battery shims tomorrow and see if it continues.
