Intermittent Engine Shut Down and Fender Bender

I own a 12 Genesis with Tech & Premium packages, 25k miles and have had an excellent driver and car experience until NOW! The last couple of weeks, while in stop and go traffic, the car stalls, difficulty in getting into park but starts up immediately, have others experienced this? Obviously I'll take it in for service but would appreciate info that I can share with dealer. 2nd issue, someone backed into my front end, no significant damage, but chipped/pealed the plastic grill. Just discovered one of Hyundai's cost savings.

Almost all cars use as much plastic as feasible, primarily to save weight and get better fuel economy.

Not with my Genny but my '99 Dodge Dakota had this same problem recently. There was some sort of connection issue with the ECM causing the engine to die suddenly but it happened at both low and high speeds. The engine always restarted and usually didn't fail for a day or two.

The problem turned out to be an intermittent connection problem with the ECM. It usually failed with no warning or messages/codes but one time it displayed something like "bus connection lost" which means the ECM has lost connectivity with the engine and automatically shuts it down. Replacing the ECM fixed the problem.
