  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Need suggestions. For the past month I have had a very suttle engine misfire. It happens mostly when the engine is cold and when you are on the highway and take your foot off the gas and coast, you can feel a very slight misfire.

Took to the dealer today and it threw no codes yet the tech rep also felt it. They tested gas and the gas was alright.

Tires are balanced with no wheel shimmy.

My take was possibly a coil on plug issue or throttle control unit.

Ant thoughts?

I would clean the mass airflow sensor. It is that little goody behind the screen at the air filter outlet. Just buy some mass airflow cleaner at any auto parts store. Spray it on and you are done.
Next depends on how hard you can push Hyundai for a warranty claim. I would ask for coil replacement first, as that might be warrantable. Spark plugs are normal wear items.
If you have to pay for it on your own nickel, then I would consider buying one new coil and one spark plug. I would r&r a coil and plug one at a time until I found the cylinder that was missing. That is doing it the hard way. There is a tool/meter which can tell you which cylinder is missing - a friend of mine has one that we used to detect a bad coil wire on a Cadillac I once owned.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
If you think you might have a problem with a coil or sparkplug and just want to eliminate them you can go to just about any auto supply store and have them scan your cars ECO for free.
I know AutoZone will scan your ECO for free using an CAN OBD II Code Reader/ EOBD Scanner:p

Rey: how easy is it to get to the Mass Airflow sensor? What does it look like?
