  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey everyone, Im Mike in Calgary. Iv been looking into a fun fast car for a good price and the Genesis keeps coming up. After looking around they seem to be quite fast for the money, love the looks. I havnt test driven any yet, but have 2 in my sights.
One is a 2010 3.8 coup with only 38k kms on it. Manual for 16,500.
And a 2011 2.0t manual with 43k km for 15500

I'm leaning towards the 3.8. But coming from a 2.3l mazda 3 both are going to feel fast. Any preferences?

Iv heard I should look for grinding in 5th gear, common issue? Is it an easy fix, or do I avoid ones that have it?

Any other common problems I should look out for?

Is the ride quality in the 3.8 track that much stiffer than the 2.0t?

My other ride is a 2008 jeep wrangler on 35s. She's my baby and takes me anywhere, albeit slowly.
