  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My 2011 Equus makes a sound like static when I'm playing an iPod or iPhone via the Hyundai cable. If I pause the audio, the static is still there, so it is not part of the recording. I tried multiple iPhones and a separate iPod and they all produced the same feedback/static.

If I use only a headphone jack-style cable, the sound is crystal clear with no static. I would suspect it's the cable, but I used the same Hyundai cable in the loaner Equus I was given and it was crystal clear. That leads me to believe it's somewhere in the connections within my vehicle. It was the sudden lack of static in the loaner vehicle that brought it to my attention in the first place. I had assumed it was static within the talk show podcasts I was listening to and blamed it on the recording itself.

Anyone else ever experience this?

I've had this same problem with my 2012 Genesis and after getting a new cord the static is completely gone. You may have a bad cord.
