iPod Recognition

Have a 2013 Equus and an old (Gen 1 or 2) ipod. It worked for a few days; now the car tries to communicate but fails. Any ideas?

Hi, are you using the "H" cable?
I used the regular iPod (early Classic) to computer cable, plugged it into the USB socket in the center console, started the car and yippee it was recognized and works flawlessly..

Cool I found the same thing with my 2013 Genesis. I purchased on ebay a computer type cable for 0.99 delivered and it works perfect.

What is the "H" cable?

it's the Hyundai Cable that has the AV pin attached.. I'm not sure if the cable wiring is conducive with all iPods/iPhones..
As I said my very early iPod Classic works flawlessly with just a standard USB to iPod/iPhone cable plugged into the USB socket in the center console..
I use a power adaptor (center console power socket) with a USB to connect my iPhone, always charged and BT works flawlessly.
My Passat SEL & Ford Focus both gave a meaningful chime when my iPhone received an email. No such sound from the "H" unit..!!?
