If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi guys...

As the title... I'm having a trouble with instaliing the H11 HID bulb.

When I put the original bulb to the headlight housing, the bottom part of the bulb should be turned to make a perfect fit.

However, with H11 HID bulb, it does fit, but I can't turn the HID bulb to make a perfect fit.

If I pull or shake the body of the bulb, it drops.

Has anyone installed H11 HID bulb ...?

need help..

Everyone, Correct Me If I'm Wrong!

The H11 (and H8 [foglamp bulbs] and H9 [not used in the Genesis]) is a Quartz Iodine or Quartz Halogen bulb, not an HID bulb.
The only difference between an H8, H9 and H11 is the wattage, but they are not HID.

If your replacement H11 does not fit correctly, compared to the OEM H11, it is because of small physical differences from the manufactures between the two bulbs.

The HID is a whole different animal.

If I'm wrong, someone correct me.

I think you are right Bob.

When I installed my new bulbs (HID) in my foglights, I actually had to take a dremmel to the plastic fins to make them thinner in order to actually turn and lock into place.

Pain in the ass, but It works.

Thanks bob and scott,

Now I am sure that I can cut the plastic fins to make them thinner like

the original bulb (What I thought last night).

I am assuming that cutting them will take forever...:) I tried

last night and those plastic things are not real plastic.. haha...

yeah...I will try by the way... Thanks... :)
