  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Came out of the bank today, and a guy comes up to me and asks "It that a Chrysler"? Told him that it was a Hyundai Genesis. He was impressed.

Did not scold him for asking if it was a Chrysler, because many times, I see a Chrysler Sebring Sedan, coming toward me, and from a distance, the front view does look like a Genesis grill.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I've had that one also. He didn't realize Hyundai made such a nice looking car!!!

Happened to me a few weeks ago. I pulled into the parking spot to get my hair cut and a guy catches up to me and says, that's the closest thing to a Bentley I've seen in an american car! I smiled and said, "Thanks, its a Hyundai though!" He dropped his smile and said, "Really? I thought it was a Chrysler!"

I've had two people ask me if my Genesis was a Chrysler. You kind of want to slap them because the wing badge doesn't look anything like the Chrysler logo.

Maybe it's where you live. They asked me if it was a Bentley :D
I agree - it must be a local thing. I have been asked, "Bentley?" three or four times, but never once have I been asked, "Chrysler?"

I get the Bently question as well....

CTRCbob,

The next day after reading your post, i saw the Chrysler you were talking about and i can see how it looks a little like the Genesis from the front. I'm not too about the rest.

I currently drive a 2001 Chrysler 300M and I like the Genesis, because it reminds me of an updated version of my car... more so then the box and imo less attractive 300/300C.

The paint color of my car is even called "Sapphire Blue Pearl Coat".

Yeah, I get asked what kind of car it is almost on a daily basis. Sometimes I will walk up on people who are hovering around my car in the parking lot. I always get people asking if it's a Bentley because of the KDM emblem. Everyone's shocked when I tell them it's a Hyundai. So far no Chrysler references.

I'm sorry if I offend any Chrysler fans (assuming any are left), but I believe I'd be prone to stab anyone that looked at my Hyundai and asked if it was a Chrysler.

A guy I work with just yesterday asked me what kind of car it was. I told him Hyundai. He said, "nah, its a Chrysler".

I love it when people correct you on what you actually own!
