  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I like to drive in sport mode 99% of the time and am anticipating my Genesis lease. I do know from test driving it, and from my wifes 2016 sonata that you have to press the sport mode button every time you start the car. Is there any way to make that permanent? Maybe a dealer adjusted option in the computer somewhere.

Short answer is NO.

Thankfully it's really easy to press the button! :D

once in awhile i forget to hit it twice, and only hit it once. then i'm driving around in Eco mode, wondering what's wrong

As the saying goes; Where there's a will there's a way...

You can experiment by using couple of timed relays connected in parallel to automate the process, the first one, say fires once at ten seconds after the car starts, while the second one would fire 5 seconds later.

You can also use a programmable relay to achieve the same desired result, one example;

This gentlemen had a similar need, although for a different function to be preformed and he seem to have been successful ;

There might be a better way to achieve the same end result, but it is just a suggestion, if you like modifying your car....;)

Awesome! I think I can just train myself to press the button, but I wish it would just stay on all the time. Not a big deal at all though, just nit picking.

maybe if you push the button harder....

sport mode is quite fun :-)
