  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Is there any difference between Level 3 and Auto 3? From what I can tell, they are the same, because the needle does not move at all regardless of whether there are cars in front or not.

Does the Auto level determine the lowest possible regen mode?

For example:
Auto 3 - 3 only
Auto 2 - 2 and 3
Auto 1 - 1, 2, and 3
Auto 0 - 0, 1, 2, and 3

Effectively yes, however auto also uses your road position (through GPS) to adjust retardation depending on the physicalities of the road, i.e. rises and dips (looking at the video I'm about to link this might be an optional setting).
The following videos are from an Ioniq 5, and so are the same as for us, though the creator seems to be unaware of the geographic settings.

Didn't know that about GPS! Does it do it even when you're not using NAV?

I love Auto 3 - its my favorite and default setting. Been using it for a year now.

I think @dapprman has got it mostly right. Only thing I’ll add is that the Auto level is certainly not a L*-equivalent minimum. In L1, there is always some regen when lifting the throttle. In Auto1, coasting is possible (no regen) under certain conditions. I quite miss this - having been in a Tesla for a couple months now.

I'm using Auto 3 with Eco mode lately (for smoother acceleration off the line), and I turned of eco mode climate control.

I was just wondering if there was a difference between using Auto 3 and regular 3. I'd actually prefer to use regular 3 so that I can switch to i-pedal and levels 0-2 easily, but if auto 3 uses GPS, then I'll keep it on auto 3.

That has been my experience, just leave it on Auto 3.
