  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Is this a good price?

Hello All,

I'm totally new to this forum and I have been shopping around for a new genesis 3.8 (ONLY).

Please bear with me if you think I'm asking the same Q. But some opinion would help me big time.

I have one quote for a 2011/V6/Black/Saddle with prem package for 32.5K. Is this a good one?

On the other hand I have a 2010 with same trim and color but with a tech package for 36K. I didnt' want to go for 2010 as I read on some forums that 2011 has new suspension / steering / BMW like gear shift etc etc.

Any opinion or advise will be greatly appreciated. My current car is old and about to die...so want to purchase in a month or so at the latest....

Thanks

The information you read about 2011 improvements is completely wrong. There is almost no difference between 2010 and 2011 (other than what option packages are offered), and no difference in suspension. There may be some minor differences such as wheels, but not sure. You don't need to worry about missing any important improvements in the 2011 that I know of.

So if you find a 2010 you like, then I would definitely consider a 2010 model if you want a Tech Package and the price is noticeably better than the equivalent 2011 model. You should expect to pay less for a 2010 model than for an equivalent 2011 model, just because the new model year is now available.

You can also check with Costco to see if they still have a car-buying deal on the Genesis. The no-haggle Costco price is quite good (if still offered).

hey new> im wondering why your omiting the v8 from your search? just courios. best advice IMO would be to define exactly what you want and what options you could waver on. Do some heavy research on the Internet and try to negotiate the best deal for yourself at the dealership. what do you drive now? and congrats on your dec to go with Genesis

Thanks Guys. I definitely need the prem package but can waiver navigation and tech. Also not considering V8 because initial cost + gas mileage + not sure if I will need all that extra power. Right now I drive a 2002 altima that I wanna get rid of....

I will keep on doing some more search ...

thanks
