  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

This Hyundai dealership used to be Manfredi Hyundai. The family has since sold several of the dealerships since Joe Manfredi's death a few months back.

I have bought 4 vehicles from Manfredi Hyundaiand it was the best place to go for service, parts or anything else you needed.

Now since Island Auto group bought the Manfredi empire. ( all except the Chevy dealership which Nick Manfredi Kept ) The Island Hyundai service dept is terrible.

I went there last week with both of my 2014 Genesis sedan's headrests sprung for no apparent reason. They just " Popped " The Manager Jack and another mechanic insisted that they don't just " Pop "..They told me I had to hit something, Pot Hole Etc, which I didn't.

I called the Hyundai Customer service line and they instructed me to tell the service dept to refer to the owners manual and the fact that the head rests are only generally supposed to go off in a rear impact.
These clowns also told me the seats had to come apart and I would be charged for it! I then told him to go to hell and I'd be back!

I got a case # from Hyundai and returned the next day...I even printed the TSB on how to reset the headrests ( Which I could have done myself ) and gave it to the service writer along with the case# from Hyundai.

Long story short, they reset the passenger headrest & had to order the driver side because they couldn't get it to reset.
The part that Pissed me off is the manager try's to tell me the seats have to come apart to fix the headrests when all it takes to remove them is pulling the clip & sliding them up and out of the seat.

Beware of these clowns as it seems all they want to do is try to get into your pocket and charge you for work that should be warranty.

No longer will I do any business with these Rip off artists so Beware if you live in the area. My advice would be to go to Plaza Hyundai in Brooklyn NY!

I've purchased three Hyundai vehicles (one Azera and two Genesis) from Long Island City Hyundai in Queens and had excellent service from their organization for nine years.

Thanks for the heads up on that Long Island dealership..

Maybe when I'm ready to buy my next Genesis, I'll give them a try! :)
