Hi all -- not sure where to post this. I'm new here! So I have a 2010 Gen coupe, and about 4 months ago, the key fob stopped working to unlock the doors and start the car (battery died) .. But it started the car fine in the center console. Today, I ran errands all morning, just fine -- I came up with my groceries and was up stairs for maybe 45 minutes, went to leave again and the car wouldn't start. The START button is lit up blue as usual, but when I put the key in, the red / green light (the tiny dot on the START button) doesn't come on, telling me something is off and the car isn't recognizing the key being in place.
I went to Radio Shack, replaced the battery in the fob finally and returned to my car .. the fob now lights up when pressing button but won't unlock car doors, open trunk or start car still... Im assuming the fob either became de-programmed to the car or the car isn't picking up the signal for some reason??? I have 2 fobs and tried both, no go. It is so odd. AAA came, said battery was fine, but tried to jump just in case - nothing, nada!! For some reason the car suddenly stopped picking up the fob altogether -- definitely has to be in the car's system somewhere as the fobs have brand new batteries, and they won't even unlock the doors when pressing buttons.
The interior lights come on, but no indicator lights because the car doesn't do anything when I press the START button. I know a lot of people have had similar issues as Ive read them here .. any ideas as to what it can be?? I am getting it towed to dealer Monday but would love it if I can figure this out myself. Please offer any advice you may! Thank you !
