  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

This discussion made me think.... Do we need a forum for things like this? Are there currently more areas / issues that need dealer feedback? Or is this the only one for now?

The reason I think this could be a good addition is - people will have a spot to quickly research issues with their Genesis. They'll be able to tell whether or not other people are having the same issue - and whether or not there's a fix (or even one needed).

Let me know your thoughts.

Thank you,

Sal C.

I think we do. I would suggest moving the "Engine Specific" sub-forum, to the tech discussion forum and add it as another sub-forum with brakes, etc. Under the General Discussion Forum have only one sub-forum titled: "Known/Suspected Issues & Fixes".

I think you're right that bugs/glitches in individual sub-forums will get lost to the average user. Having all the "issues" in one place would be great.

Currently we have issues of heat from rear vents, the NAV system erasing itself, some question on free XM [3 vs. 12 months], metallic tint on rear window, TPMS related issues [snow tires, rotation]. I think the thread title should be the CAR SYSTEM, not the problem name. For example, here is how Hyundai service breaks it down on their site:
picture.php

Maybe these could "pre-constructed" threads. Then again, where would a new user post the NAV issue and the TINT issue? [NAV would go under Body Electrical, etc]

Thanks, Ric.. If you happen to have the spare time - would you mind creating a post with all the topic links in question? This way I could start the new forum and quickly move all the topics. It's okay for new topics to be posted "wherever" - I'll just need to move them into the "Issues" forum as I notice them...

The "Engine" forum suggestion has been taken care of. Thank you!

No problem, but please clarify...

Do you want one thread with the topics from the Hyundai site below, or one thread with the known issues on this board, or

multiple threads with the above which you can move to the new forum?

Thanks, Ric! I'm looking for a list of links to posts on THIS forum where we're discussion issues which need attention. From there, I will move those posts to a new section where we can all pay closer attention to the tasks at hand...

Just back from vacation.....

Can you please add the buzz at push-button start to the list of "issues".

By the way, I just drove from Virginia to Florida and back, and I have still never seen another Genesis on the road! How many of you guys have seen another Genesis on the road besides your own??

That is another reason why I am interested in the Genesis more so for the exclusivity. I dont want a car that I will see every 3rd car on the road. It is like when I drive my SRT-4 I went months if not a year before I first saw my first one that was not mine and I still don't see them often.

I look forward to having another car that is not going to be seen everywhere during the first few years.

It should be there already......
