Greetings,
New joiner to the GENESIS club from the UAE.
Recenly I've replaced my daily commute 2019 Audi A6 2.0 with a 2024 G80 2.5 RWD and it's amazing and beautiful car. During the last 3 months and 4000km (2500mi) I've encountered few issues that I would like to share.
From day one the car had vabration on speeds between 40-80kmg (30-50mph) and all 4 tires were changed on the first 100km mark. Original tires were Hankook ventus s1 evo2 – 245/50R18 (100W) and new tires are Kumho Solus TA21 – 245/50R18 (100V) and they're kinda stiff.
Noises:
Panoramic roof started making cracking noises on day 3. It was crack every few days and now its few cracks on daily basis.
Wind and street noise.. It's so annoying that sometimes would think on of the windows is cracked open or something. What I've under stood is that all 2.5 trims in the UAE don't come with double glass windows so im guessing that might be it.
I've opted for 18" tires thinking it would be more comfy and smooth but it was not up to the expectation in those areas. It could be the tires?!
Vibration:
slight vibration is sensed on the steering wheel, seat, door and middle console when on the move. It's like the kind of vibration you sense/get when you shift early on a manual gear car.
Other issues:
After every car wash or rain, driver side door won't lock when handel is touched but it will get back to normal within 3-4 sunny days.
Trunk (not electric) won't close unless slammed!
With every cold start i would here an annoying ticking sound that would disappear once the temperature rises (within 3-4min).
Humming sound on foot is off the throttle on speeds below 100kmh (60mph).
Currently I'm considering to installing double glass windows and replacing the tires in an effort to reduce the noise. (Any recommendations on quite tire summer tires as it's summer all the time in the UAE). Panoramic roof dealer clamis its the capsules and it'll replaced next week along with door handle sensors. Still trying to figure out the ticking & humming sounds though.
