Issues with DIS controller (knob)

Hi Everyone,

The DIS controller on my 2009 4.6 is having issues. I know this is almost certainly a coincidence, but my XM trial subscription ran out this morning.

I can not change the channels on the tuner or navigate through any menus with the DIS controller as of this morning. Voice commands work, and the buttons (FM, XM, CD/AUX) still work as well as navi/map buttons.

Is there any troubleshooting I can do or is this pretty much a trip to the dealer?

So after leaving the car while I was work, all is well again. Not go on to waste my time when dealership won't be able to reproduce it. Hopefully it was just a glitch. These head units seem prone to glitches from what i am reading on here. Oh well, still love this car.

This is and has been a well know suspicion that when your XM subscription or a free promotion via XM ends that it leaves a string of data in your head unit that interfere with the operation of several devices. You can disconnect battery or pull fuse for the head unit which then will dump the suspect data sting. Works for me every time XM has a free two week trail which ends.

I had a case of 'OMG, it's the head unit' paranoia.

Damn software... lol
