  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 2022 GV70 with the twin turbo 6. Since we’ve had the car my wife and I have both noticed that it gets extremely squirrelly in wet weather, particularly on curves. I’m talking major skids at low speeds on exit ramps and around town. We have plenty of tread on our tires. Has anyone else experienced the same thing and does anyone have any idea what to about it. After a few scary drives in the wet, my wife doesn’t want to take the car out on even a humid day.

How low is low speed? For some it is 30 mph, for others it is 60 mph.
Assuming you are driving at what would be a normal safe speed for conditions, it sounds unusual for decent tread to behave like that. I'd be looking a new tires.

How old are your tires. They will have a code number (TIN) and the first two digits are the week, the last two digits is the year they were manufactured. Tires at 5 years of age and older tend to lose their abilities due to aging rubber compounds.

I had the same issue with new C-class Mercedes with Michelin tyres. Dealer did not admit anything, but something was definitely wrong with the tyres as driving in mildly wet weather felt like snow. Close look at the tyres showed that they were completely brown. This can happen with older tyres, but these were only about 6 months old. Changed to another set from Conti and it became a different car.

Funny, I switched out the original Michelins and went to Contis, the DWS 06 Plus, which is a great tire. And, of course, that fixed the problem. The Michelins were toast.
