  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Bluetooth - How do I transfer over address books?

I'm able to successfully pair two separate cell phones to the Blue tooth in my new 2010 3.8 sedan, but how do I get the phone books to transfer over?

The documentation seems to indicate that Blue tooth has that capability, but I can't figure out how to do it.

Both phones work fine (dialing, incoming calls, audio response, etc.) but this phone book problem is driving me up the wall.

I've read the manuals for both phones and for the Genesis, and just can't find the answer. (It may be there, but I'm not finding it, somehow).

I'd hate to have to manually enter every number. There's got to be an "automagic" way to do this.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Setting Up 2 Phones and Phonebooks Using Bluetooth

:DProblem Solved!

I don't know what caused the problem, but here's what fixed it: I used "reset to factory settings" on the car's bluetooth phone setup. That erased both my phones, and the (unsuccessfully transferred) address books.

;)Then I did a new install of the two phones. It worked perfectly, and this time the address books "auto-magically" transferred over.

:welcome:Thanks for the offline help and suggestions.

Was this for a car with the tech package?

I did not have the Tech Package. What I have is option package 3 - that includes GPS, Bluetooth with voice recognition for the phone, radio, GPS, DVD, etc.; It also has a sunroof, backup TV camera and some hardware upgrades (premium leather, 18" wheels, lots of speakers, and other stuff I've already forgotten about).

Sweet car....

Boca Dave,

It's a little confusing because you have 3.8 V6 Coupe listed in your profile settings, not to mention that the packages have changed slightly in the 2010 sedan than most of us are used to.

So if I understand you correctly, you have the 2010 3.8 Sedan with the Premium Plus and Premium Navigation packages:

Premium Package (+$2500)
- Power tilt-and-slide glass sunroof
- Ultra-premium leather seating surface
- Tailored leather-wrapped dash and door trim inserts
- Integrated Memory System (IMS)
- Power tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel
- Power rear sunshade
- Lexicon® 14-speaker surround sound audio, 6-disc CD-changer and HD Radio®
- Rain-sensing wipers with auto defogger windshield

Premium Navigation Package (+$2000)
Requires Premium Package

- 18-inch 9-spoke Hyper silver alloy wheels with chrome inserts and P235/50R18 tires
- DVD Navigation system with touchscreen and XM NavTraffic® with 90-day trial
- Rearview camera
- Deletes CD-changer and HD Radio® Technology

That would explain why you can download the address book from your phone. The Lexicon system in the Technology package does not support that. Here's the Tech package:

Technology Package (+$5,500)
Requires Premium Package

- Lexicon® 17-speaker 7.1 discrete audio system
- Ultimate Navigation system with 8-inch display (Touchscreen Navigation System is NOT INCLUDED)
- 6-disc DVD changer
- Driver Information System (DIS) with multimedia controller
- Bluetooth® hands-free phone system with integrated display
- XM® Satellite Radio & NavTraffic® with 90-day trial
- Smart cruise control
- Electronic parking brake with automatic vehicle hold
- HID Xenon, adaptive (auto-cornering) headlights
- 18-inch 14-spoke Hyper Silver alloy wheels with P235/50R18 tires
- Rearview camera with front/rear parking assistance system
- Cooled driver seat

:rolleyes:Sorry for the confusion. Totally my bad.

Gee... a guy makes one little error, saying Coupe, instead of sedan...

Anyway, I've corrected the profile.

I do have the 2010 3.8 Sedan with the packages you describe (Premium Package + Premium Navigation Package), and (as I said), I don't have the 2010 Tech package.

It was a tough decision picking which package to buy... but there wasn't that much more in the Tech Package that was important to me and (while it would have been nice)... that's a heck of a price jump (and I would have lost the Touch Screen feature).

Great car, whatever option package one takes... and even if if you take the basic car without any options, you're paying the price of a Chevy for a really great road car (minus toys, but still handling and riding like a dream).

Such a deal!
