  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Sales up from Jan of '22, but sharply down from the record breaking Dec (likely Genesis needed to rebuild inventory).

Canada - 328

Germany - 102

First market outside of Korea where Genesis outsells Lexus (41 to 34); think Germany (102 vs 135) will be the next.

Interesting to note that the G80 is the top seller (all/mostly the eG80?) w/ zero GV80 sales.

Australia - 106

71% if U.S. sales were SUV's. Definitely a sign of the times.

Grandeur - 9,131

EV6 - 0
Stinger - 113
Mohave - 482
K8 - 3,451

The new, upscale Grandeur outsold all of Genesis; sales down sharply from Dec (nearly 7k fewer sales), so leads credence to supply being an issue (esp for EVs).

The sedan is dying on the vine in the state but the G80 (which I bought a couple months ago) is HOT in Korea…what’s that about do you think?

While CUVs/SUVs have become more popular in the Korean market, large sedans still rule the luxury segment.

G80 sales are actually down from its height (7,900), as are G90 sales (2,900).

The new, upscale Grandeur likely has impacted G80 sales (think the G90 is supply constrained after a big Dec).

The Korean market is one of the largest for E/S Class sedans (some months, more E/S Classes sold in Korea than here).

That's why those who stated that Genesis made a mistake in focusing first on sedans were wrong.

Genesis needed a strong/healthy domestic market first and that meant large sedans (the smallish G70 doesn't sell well in Korea).

This is insightful. Thanks.
