The E550 was just tested by autoweek...

5.5 litre same power as the 4.6 Tau (more torques "tip of the hat to Topgear" but same HP)
7 speed auto

Slower to 60 and thru the Quarter mile than the 4.6 Tau

Starts at 58K (tires extra)....

I love the AMG cars ( I will drool when the E63 is released later in 2010) but I don't get the appeal of the bread and butter Benz....

I saw my first new E on the road today. I have to admit but I really like the exterior in person. Nice hunkered down look and aggressive and classy at the same time. I think the E is overpriced, but, I have always like the E class. The new one is no exception. The Analog clock in the gage cluster is bizzare to me, but overall, I like it.

There are plenty of let downs BUT you have to admit they can really put on a great paint job and good chrome.
